That is true, the xcode software us free. However, the implication is not true: Apple does charge developers for the privilege of developing to their platform. So yes, you do have to buy the "dev kit" if you want to develop for the me platform. I didn't say anything about whether this was a good thing or a bad thing, or whether Apple is the only one who does this (they aren't) or anything else.

Now stop trying to argue with me, I don't give a shit what platform you develop for or what big corporation's T-shirt you want to wear. It's fine, do what you like, just stop arguing at me.

If you don't care, why are you involved? I'm just saying that the "Apple imposes fees on developers" claim doesn't stand alone. It's made with the implication that Android is better because it doesn't have a fee. The reverse is true: No fee means loads of crappy software and malware. A fee keeps the garbage developers at bay and helps to create a system to protect against malware. That's a huge win for iOS, not a small negative!

Oh, I'm not at all pleased that Apple produces virtually everything it makes outside the US. I'm not happy that the same is true for any other electronics maker, clothing maker, etc. I don't blame an individual company though.

I blame politicians who are too willing to cater to corporate interests on a larger scale. When these politicians tell us that we have to compete in the "free market" but they let Communist China rig their currency and subsidize their exporters to the point where Americans have to compete with $2/hour labor I have a problem with that. Then these same people who are helping Communists at the expense of Americans call Obama a Socialist! All that before they start wiping out Democracy in small towns across the midwest.

Some of the biggest moguls, investors, lobbyists and richest men in America are flaming socialist liberals like Obama. - Warren Buffett and Little Billy Gates are two of the most prominent. These cock-knockers are the same moguls you are whining about in your rant about "Free Market" and Capitalism. I am more the supporter of the android OS, because of it's down to earth openness, and badass apps. I have never tried the Apple iPhone, iPad, iThis, iThat, but I don't hate or downgrade their products, because it took a long time for someone to develop and perfect them. I only don't like their business strategy, which is frankly... kinda fascist.

I think both companies would strongly disagree.

What's more, I've no doubt that if you were to start your own soda company and use either of their shapes, you'd end up losing in court if your lawyers couldn't convince you to choose another shape.
