I think my problem is quite obvious, so please leave me a link to a good free web hosting provider. I was wondering if there is any out there which allows hosting web apps. I know, I know, free hosting isn't the best option due it's limitations, but what can I do? I can't afford a paid domain

. By the way, I've already tried freehostingnoads.

you know some companies offer free domain registrations and many providers charge dollars per month. that is pretty low...
sorry... I just try to avoid free hosting services as much as possible.

Doesn't matter if it's free or paid as long as the service is good, 000webhost offer a service on par with most of the cheapo hosts out there.
Shared Hosting in general is a bad idea for anything more than a hobby site, and most people know this anyway

I think it would also be prudent to ask what you mean by "web apps". Language and spec requirements?

Mostly PHP / Javascript apps (I know there are some dedicated hosts for Node.js apps, but this is not what I'm looking for right now). Most of the free hosting providers specify that they don't allow any kind of "applications such as, proxy scripts, shell scripts, online gaming scripts, file/image sharing scripts, chat scripts, paid-to-surf, auto-surf, buxto, torrent scripts". I'm not going to create any file sharing website, but I wish I could host a chat script, and later, maybe, a PHP / JS web game.
Edit: PHP version: 5.1.0+ (PDO)

Shocker - free sites limit their exposure to fly by night users that want to dump and run some, most often, exploitative script.
You may want to try Amazon's Web Services.. they have a year long free trial you can try out.. then it's pay per use sort of thing.
