Start studying CompSci to get a head start before college and tips?

Posted 22 September 2012 - 08:56 PM

Hi. In college, I plan to major in Computer Science and I really want to get a high GPA (Which is at least a 3.75. Being the hard worker I am, I want to start preparing so I can get an advantage.

How can I start studying? Where can I start studying?

Are there any tips seasoned Computer Science majors can give me that I should keep in mind when going into that major?

What sort of liberal courses, even unrelated ones, can contribute some knowledge and skills needed in computer science besides mathematics courses? What sort of liberal courses except art help teach one to think outside the box and be creative as needed in computer science?

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

What's your background in high school math? Any Calculus?
Have you done any programming?

Blog post of mine on the benefit taking unrelated undergrad courses [which you seem to already be on top of].

I'm taking AP BC Calculus this year as a senior in HS. Previous years, I've taken PreCalculus, Trigonometry, and Geometry. I've also taken a mathematics research class that explored topics that are not generally taught in the curriculum.
