I find running when I have a cold, drainage stuff helps clear it out. Yeah I have to take it easier and I cough and sneeze during and after the run but it gets all that stuff out.

Nothing helps me get over a cold like going for a run. I've also been called crazy, so grain of salt.

For me it's not the congestion so much as it is that when I sleep, I get post nasal drip and that crap drains into my lungs. I wake up in the morning hacking and coughing and I don't get rid of that til it's too late in the morning to go for a run.

I've always loved running when I was shitfaced drunk. I've even convinced my wife to come run with me. If you can sweat that shit out and then pound a bunch of water, you're much less likely to be hung over in the morning. But

I can chug along at a moderate pace (or at least it seems moderate to my blurry vision) indefinitely when drunk, but I look like I have a head injury when trying to sprint while I'm drunk. I also run a moderate risk of acquiring a head injury when sprinting while drunk.

Never ran drunk. Might add that to my todo list lol.
My heart monitor is the motoactv by Motorola if you're interested. And yes, it did cost a pretty penny, but it's worth it.

My friend Chris is the King of drunken Hide (We just suddenly realize he's gone, the Seek is optional).
We've found him under a neighbors car (in their garage?), 3 miles away at an elementary school playground (3:00AM), in the closet a few times, and once on the roof (he somehow broke the lock off the shed, retrieved the ladder, and when we found him he was depressed he could not make it to the Moon).
It's not all bad when Drunk Chris shows up though. Once he came back 3hrs later wandering in from the field escorted by 2 good looking women. We still don't know how he pulled that one off at 4 in the morning

After two weeks off due to that nasty case of strep and subsequent fun of playing "guess who is allergic to their anti-strep meds", I was back in the gym tonight. I took my various exercises down a notch so not to snap my shit up, and got in a decent twenty minutes on the tread mill.
Over all, and a few buckets of sweat later, I feel f'n fantastic. On the plus side I noticed (probably not the first time), hopping off the treadmill I wasn't wheezing or short of breath. A far cry from September or so when I was huff'n and puff'n like.. er.. an overweight shut-in IT stereotype.
Also when I started my car up some boy band was singing a song about 'Get back to where you once belonged'... I take that as a good omen!

I can relate. My cold finally let up Saturday so yesterday morning I restarted C25K where I left off. Two ten minute runs later my pace was nothing to cheer about...but I finished and since you're not reading this in the obit column, all went well.
Used the run as motivation to move my office from a room the wife wants to turn into a kids playroom (our kids are 13 and 10 so this will involve a new TV at some point and some video game consoles...so it'll serve non-kids as well) to an unused guest bedroom.

I ran for the first time yesterday since my disc pushed out. My sciatic felt like a burning rod of misery (hey, that sounds like an awesome snuff flick) attaching my left hip to my left knee, but I still ran goddammit, and I even did a pretty decent sprint (to race my daughter on her bike). On the plus side, I managed to keep dropping weight for another week or so after I'd quit working out, and it just flattened out like it's on pause, so I don't have any weight loss ground to make up.

I saw that band on campus many years back! Well by band I mean string quartet that attempted to cover death metal songs.

All I recall as a kid about getting one's tonsils removed is summed up nicely with this:

Good luck mano.
