A useful career is something that pretty much only you can define. Does it provide you with enough cash to cover your basic necessities? Does it allow creativity and stimulation so you are not being beat down in a mindless rut? Enough freedom to contribute positively to society?

Well, first of all I would like to congratulate you on being selected for MS. About the useful part, it will be extremely useful if you want to take up a core programming job and not any management job because anyone who does an MS in System Engineering will probably aspire to become a software programmer or a software developer. So, now it is up to you to decide the stream of job you are going into after you finish this course. Personally, I would prefer if you take up a non-management kind of job which involves a lot of hard- coding. All the very best for you future.
regards,
Raghav
