in my project i need to read sensor data which is transmitted and received on RFID interfaced to the pc through rs232.this data i have to make use in my mysql database.so i wanted to know how i read my port using vb6 and then update it to database.i created the database using wampserver. i got no prior experience of high level programming ..

Why start with vb6? Why not .NET? the serialport namespace is pretty nifty.
