I tried transferring the code from turbo c++ to dev and i found a lot of error specially on functions!

Its 1:02AM here looks like i will not sleep

Remember that programmers are tools for converting caffeine into code.

I recommend reviewing the tutorial on functions before you proceed further. I think you missed a few lessons:

As I mentioned, the clrscr(), gotoxy() and other conio.h functions that are part of Turbo C will not work in Dev C++. You have been warned.

Also note that the <string.h> header file is only for C-strings not C++ strings if you want to try to use C++ strings with a Borland compiler you need to use the <cstring.h> header file. But understand that the Borland implementation of the string class is quite different than the Standard C++ string class. I really don't recommend trying to use the string class with a Borland compiler, stick with C-strings until you come into the light.

Edit:
If you must use the horribly outdated Turbo-C++ for class then use it, don't try converting Turbo-C++ code to some other compiler and I don't recommend trying to convert from a more modern compiler like Dev-C++ (be aware that Dev-C++ is, like Turbo-C++, very outdated and should be replaced).

You need to seriously work on your indentation. With proper indentation you should be able to easily see the problem:

The way your code is written you are trying to implement a function (design()) within another function (main()). This is not allowed.

When im trying to put int design it gives me a syntax declaration error.

and whenever im trying to copy the code on the video converting it to turbo c++ code. using string password it gives me error undefined symbol string using string.h and when cstring.h it gives me unable to open include file

I need to create a Enter password screen with loop until correct password is entered after that the codes will show or run.

Question:

1. What should i use to create a password, string(having problem with this using borland or can i use if == password loop?
2. Where should i put the code? Inside the main block?

Snoopy, first of all, let him do his own code. Another thing, why are you using strlen and strstr? It is better to use strcmp.

Untalented, it would be better if you read up something about functions first, since you are trying to define your functions inside main(), which is wrong. So, read up the links somebody here posted, and then tackle this problem again.

Yes, the sprintf() family of functions are available in Turbo-C, as is strstr(). Turbo-C is fairly close to being ANSI C compatible so most standard C functions are available.
