I'm going to try and build a gaming desktop, I have a idea of what I want to do, just don't know the best motherboard, CPU, and memory to use for it. (reasonable prices)
I am planning on using two graphics cards, Nvidia geforce most likely.
Any ideas?

As far as right now, I got
Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD
Power Supply
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular High Performance Power Supply
CPU
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
RAM
Patriot Viper 3 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory
I'm using a hard drive from my old desktop.
I was wondering if there was any suggestions on and ATI video card?
Because most of my setup is AMD/ATI, and I've heard of Nvidia and ATI not mixing very well.

I have only one suggestion about an ATI grpahics card... DON'T DO IT!!!
I've not had any trouble running an AMD board/processor with an nVidia graphics card, but every ATI card I've ever had has always had problems, or burnt out. I will admit though, it's been quite a few years now since I last had an ATI card, so they might be better.
And the rest of your system? Well, it makes me jealous and I also have a gaming PC, lol.

AMD is the same company as ATI. They bought out ATI several years ago, but continue to produce ATI graphics cards.

Opps forgot about that. This is the only problem that I'm having, is finding a graphics card.
I've been at it for hours and hours at a time.
Can't seem to find anything that pops out to me.

Isnt best a relative term? Just because somethign is best at what it does doesnt mean it will work with the other components.

I got a 700 watt power supply, and I'm planning on using 4-5 120mm fans. Is that too much for the power supply?

I don't see why not, that PSU should be fine. Fans barely have a toll

when speccing a build, its always best to state:
-maximum budget
-resolution you plan to be gaming at
-games you play
without that, anything anyone recommends is a crapshoot.
EDIT: why do you 'plan' on using two graphics cards?
