Need a good configuration PC that'll last long. About 1-2TB hard disk space... Ram upgradable upto 16 GB. Good graphics cards. Looking only for Intel Motherboard and processor. Suggest some good configurations please.

Oh that's pretty vague. What will it be used for? What's the budget? Have you simply tried tinkering with parts from Newegg or tigerdirect?

This seems pretty cool... My budget is around $1000 so it suits me well... I'd like to assemble my own PC.

Hrm, you have the budget & you have the specs. I'm not really sure what you are asking then. Call around, I'd 2nd Modi to start with NewEgg.

Man.. that's like.. the whole thrill of building your own machine, right? Not just slotting some RAM in, but weighing reviews and specs of parts with the supreme knowledge of getting a better harmony from the bits!

Oh yes, I have been constantly tinkering my existing PC.
Its a Core 2 Duo E7500
4 GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8400GS 512 MB graphics card..
Added 5 extra USB ports, now its totally 11
Wireless adapter, A 750 Watt SMPU added.

ah yes...I've always wondered about people with a generous amount of USB ports.
What do you actually use them for? I've actually never encountered a situation where someone needs more than 6 ports

phone.. tablet.. mouse.. keyboard.. back up drive.. thumb drive.. mp3 player.. mic.. webcam.. game controller.. and one for knick-nack items like a coffee hot plate.
