Help with countdown timer

Hi, i'm doing a version of who wants to be a millionaire with my own lifelines, one of which is internet access for 30 seconds. I have a working hyperlink but I dont know how to make a countdown timer so the internet will close after 30 seconds, any help and suggestions will be appreciated.

Hmmm...are you actually trying to shut down access to the internet, or simply disable a link? Are you using VB6?

Yes i'm using VB6 and yes i dont want to actually shutdown acces to the internet I just want dissable the link and close the window so the user can no longer use the internet to help the answer the question.

Have you already tried using the Timer Control (It is present in the Toolbox)?

I dont know how to make a timer countdown and all the info I find on it is a entire program devoted to coundting donw.

Try putting a timer there interval 1000 then make a label saying 30

as the timer code


Private Sub Timer1_Timer()
If label1.Caption = "0" Then
'Do what you want to happen here
Timer1.Enabled = False
End If
label1.Caption = label1.Caption - 1
End Sub
