So I've been learning C++ (I've known many other languages, so its been quite quick) and now I'd like to start developing games in it.
When I say games, I obviously mean non console (text) based games, as I can do those very simply on my own.
Obviously, the first thing I did was google for 'C++ Game Tutorial' (or something along those lines; can't remember it exactly) and... I'm left a bit confused.
In every other language I've learnt, upon searching for game tutorials, I've found brilliant, clear, up-to-date guides with ease. With C++, the only tutorials I've come across so far are often quite old, and - more importantly - nearly always are using a different framework for making the games.
So, I'm left wondering: What framework/engine should I be using for learning to develop C++ games in? I'm not going to be doing any 3D stuff for a while until I've got 2D games nailed (obviously), so I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations (with respect to game frameworks and/or tutorials).
Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys; I shall give SDL a go (along with your tutorials!).
Of course, this may end up being only for a while, as I've found in every other language I've written games in, I end up (or in some cases from the very beginning) just writing my own framework (much easier to customize that way). Well, for 2D anyway.
Any ideas on 3D engines for once I get to that stage?
