No enforced time limit but license must be purchased for continued use

Hey there. I have trouble comprehending what this means on the Sublime Text page:

Sublime Text 2 may be downloaded and evaluated for free, however a license must be purchased for continued use. There is currently no enforced time limit for the evaluation.


The first sentence is clear to me, until I read the second sentence. Does that mean I can evaluate the thing forever or something?

I have a feeling that you can evaulate it forever. I have used software that is like that.

The license is only 60$ I'm planning one using it for a month and if I like it I'll buy it. But it seems you are correct that you could evaluate the program forever.

I am guessing that if you buy the program that it will unlock other things that may not be available under the evaluation download.

Some products are unrestricted when evaluating. REAPER was like this

I think it is unrestricted, and you can evaluate it forever too. The thing looks nice and does some stuff N++(the notepad I'm using) doesn't do like automatic tabbing and a more beautiful UI in general, but some things aren't intuitive like that Project thing where I thought it would open up a set of files but it didn't.
