Probably zero, since the object is being dropped rather than thrown downwards.

I agree with NathanMullenax, dropped is normally a keyword used to express 0 initial velocity (since it was held in place beforehand).

This is a very interesting question indeed.

First, as my fellow DIC mates have told,you need to take initial velocity as 0.

Next, using the equation v2-u2 = 2*g*s , you need to calculate final velocity.

Once you find out the final velocity, use it in the equation v= u+ gt and you will find out the time.

It will probably be 22. something seconds.
