How can I create a .so in eclipse?

Posted 05 October 2012 - 12:55 PM

I am still pretty new to C++ so I had a huge file that I wrote that I started to separate into namespaces (just functions no classes). I now have another project I want to use the same namespace with so I figured I needed to create a shared object library. I am using eclipse CDT in ubuntu so I created a new shared library C++ project and put my code there. This is kind of where I am stuck. I am very ignorant when it comes to this topic so I just figured I would build it, I get no build errors but there is nothing outputted by the compiler. Does anyone know how i can get a library from this that I can use in other projects? I couldnt seem to get anything to work when googling the topic. Let me know if I am being too vague. Thank you for your time and any suggestions!

Hi,

setting as a new class from inside your project seems to work

dont ask me why eclipse is a bit weird that way alter the .c and .h files

that are auto generated build all and it should create you library in debug folder or release folder

depending on what you select...
