HTML5 game looking for testers - 5 minutes, 50 prize draw

Posted 06 October 2012 - 06:04 AM

Hello everyone!

As part of a university project, I'm developing a 2D racing game inspired by Micro Machines and Mario Kart. I'm looking for people to test a prototype and give feedback on how it plays on their chosen platform.

To play, go to http://www.kabotlab.com/mtr. A link to the questionnaire is provided at the end of each race.

Quick facts:
  • Unfinished, early prototype stage.
  • Designed for desktop, laptop, tablets, touchscreen phones (devices released in last 1.5 years or so).
  • Testing and questionnaire takes about 5 minutes.
  • Provide your email in the questionnaire to enter 50 prize draw (otherwise optional).
  • Winner paid by PayPal or bank transfer.

Recommended browsers:
Desktop/laptop:
  • Chrome 22.0+
  • Firefox 15.0+
  • Safari 6.0+
Mobile and tablet:
  • Chrome for Android 18.0+
  • Firefox for Android 15.0+
  • iOS Safari 6.0+

Aside from the prize draw I can't offer payment, although I'm happy to answer any questions regarding the development.

Thank you for your time.

Its pretty ok, I'm guessing it was made with canvas and javascript, which is cool. definitly worth a few minutes for testing.
Good luck with your game.

Thank you for the feedback!
Yes, it is using canvas. It is quite basic at the moment, but there's a lot more I want to do with it.

Thumbs down on the game. Zero sense of weight.. no ability to slow down or speed up (even though the picture of the controls shows an up and down arrow to be used)..

You are right about the sense of weight, the physics are not very good at the moment. The reason why controls are only left/right is to make it easy to play on mobile devices, but I will reconsider this if I get a lot request for more control.

Thanks for the input.
