For many users this may come as a surprise but Yahoo! Photos is finally shutting it's doors and closing down in September.
With this shutdown, Yahoo offers alternative ways to host your pictures such as Flickr, Shutterfly, or even have your pictures burned to a CD with a small fee. I found that half of the people I've talked to about this were pretty ticked off about this sudden upcoming closure but it make you wonder... why? Well, with Yahoo! supporting Flickr more and more, they decied to move their full efforts to Flickr and scrape Yahoo! Photos.
Could this mean that their will be a huge change for Flickr in the near future? (Most likely...)

IMO, Flickr owns, hard. I`ve been pro with flickr for almost 3 months now, and Marko has been for a while too, and personally, I`m really happy with what I payed for.
It`s just natural evolution of things for yahoo to close off the old obsolete service, there just is no point in keeping 2 photo hosting sites for the fun of it.

why would it be suprising.
if you went out and spent a bunch of money to buy a product would you still offer your inferior product that cost you money to run??
flickr for all.

Flickr Pro rocks, I upgraded almost a year ago and it is WELL worth it.
I was expecting this to happen, the two are essentially the same service, minus the extreme awesomeness that Flickr has to offer.
I use Flickr as a primary means to storing and displaying all of my photos so it's good to see that Yahoo! is taking measures to focus more resources rather then run multiple photo websites.
