Trouble Redirecting a URL to a Different IP Address

Posted 07 October 2012 - 11:58 AM

Well I'm trying to redirect play.kensclark.com:25585 to my Minecraft server. I thought I did everything right but people can't connect to it. I also get a weird error when entering it in the address bar.

The URL you are using in that second image seems a bit odd. The HTTP server on that machine is working fine, but the path you are giving it simply doesn't exist. I'm not sure exactly what you were trying to do there, but going straight to http://play.kensclark.com/ works fine.

From where I am, using telnet to connect to play.kensclark.com:25585 does establish a connection as well, and it's not the HTTP server. So I'm guessing that is your Minecraft server.

Well if I try to connect to play.kensclark.com:25585 in my Minecraft client it says it can't connect.

I don't know enough about Minecraft servers to help you with that. All I can tell you is that there is some kind of server active on that port and accepting connections.

Perhaps your Minecraft server is not set up properly?
