Let's say I have a nav bar. Once something is clicked in the nav bar, it would open in a div called "textbox".
I have something called "Galleria.html", for example.
How would one project this html document into a div with jQuery.ajax()?

not at all. at least when Galleria.html is a valid HTML document (reason being that <html> and <body> must not occur more than once).
what you can do is load a HTML chunk via AJAX (e.g. via load()) and put it the current document.
