Direct X 11 SDK compiling problem 'window.h' missing.

Posted 12 October 2012 - 08:30 AM

Hey there. I'm having trouble compiling my Direct X project. I get an error 'windows.h' not found (not in that exact text).

Originally I had VS 2008.
Installed 2010.

To install Direct X SDK successfully I removed some window's directives in programs and features.

Set up Library and Include directories. (Paths were something like "c:/Program Files(x86)/Microsoft Direct X (June 2010)/Include", not sure if it was supposed to automatically appear in the list of inherited values after Direct X SDK is installed, but its not- so typing the direct path is my best guess on how linking up the directories works.

also added the two .dll's to Linker.

trying to run a sample project, (a file from DirectX Sample Browser) on VS 2010, I get the error message.
