Hi, so I'm working on some software that's supposed to read in data from an in browser im (instant message) client. The issue I'm facing is seeing text that's on the webpage. Obviously if it's a chat client, without reloading the page for every comment, the new comments wont appear in the webpage source. How could I set up the program to check for text on the webpage that's not in the source?

My original attempt:

if webbrowser1.documenttext.contains(commandString) then
' commands to execute go here
end if

I've searched around for an answer with no luck.
Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

How about WebBrowser1.Refresh every 5 seconds?

Show us some code, give us a reference to the chat client. Something to work off, not every chat client works the same. We'll give you some ideas, and hopefully point you in the right direction.

How about WebBrowser1.Refresh every 5 seconds?

issue is that everytime the webpage is relaunched you must login again and no history from the previous session is loaded.

To answer the other question, I have no code except that simple code that was my attempt.

I'm trying to interact with http://www.palringo.im/ for this.
