Framework to develop a web portal

In my case is a personal portal where user can modify its contents according to their needs.

What is the suitable framework for developing such web portal?

I think the framework would depend on the type of site you are looking to create. For example, wordpress is used mainly for blogs, but it is becoming a go to framework for many different types of sites (at least for some companies). Here is a list of many CMS frameworks used today. Wordpress and Drupal are the two most commonly used frameworks.

LifeRay seems promising because of the good reviews I read from Google.

But there are other frameworks that does the same thing. Is there any difference between other frameworks? Which one do you think is good in terms of developing the codes?
