Origin is a cancer upon society. I have refused 10 dollar Battlefield 3 because of it.

What could be the reason they are willing to give games free of cost??

That's the only downside, however after you install the game you can point Steam towards the game's executable and forget everything that has to do with Origin.


@raghav.naganathan

They're probably trying to boost Origin's popularity (through money - as usual). But there's no catch other than what you see in the original post.

according to this link it was a glitch that is now fixed. The deal is no longer valid.
