Hello!

I am very new here so if there are any problems with this post, I will gladly edit the post with corrections...

Anyway, I registered to ask a question about something that's been very problematic.
No, this is not a homework. This was a voluntary project I just randomly started doing.

I recently got Visual Basic 2010 as I heard it was good for creating programs, and I have already created 2 with them.
What I want to know is how to create a microsoft office database that contains usernames and passwords to use in Visual Basic, but so that the person who logs in cannot see the database, but instead gets taken to another form on VB?

Please, PLEASE keep this simple as possible as I am... what you would call a "n00b".
Any and all help is appreciated very much!

(Side note: I have created 2 forms in VB, a standard, blank form, and a log-in form. Nothing has been edited, so it's all a clean file.)

Personally I would create the database up front.. and just connect to it using the normal CRUD (create, read, update, delete) procedures from SQl...

I might have forgot to mention I intend to port the database to a MySQL Server, if that makes any difference.

.. then why not just go there now and skip this whole 'access db' step?
