I want to start learning number theory(with respect to programming and computation) but have no idea where to begin.
I have a maths background(haven't done much number theory though, more oriented towards calculus, functions and algebra) and have done a course on discrete mathematics(only 1 semester though
) .. I like maths but having a tough time applying the same to programming. Any free resources or tutorials from where I can start will be appreciated

Check out the Math Resource Thread. The tutorials on modular arithmetic are good starting points.
