Help deciding a focus
Posted 24 October 2012 - 06:23 PM
I have been working with Java for a while now and am going to finish the second of a three class series in Java. I have been interested in some of the things on sparkfun.com mostly their inventor kit, aurdino(probably misspelled) robots and such. I am very interested in robots and I love working with gadgets and doing differentthings with them. My question is this- Should I switch over to C++ for the third class or continue on with Java? I am very interested in learning about electronics and such and I feel like Java does not offer that outlet. On the other hand I have spent a while with Java and almost feel like I would be wasting it by switching over to another language. Any input is appreciated.

Switch over to C. You learned Java (OOP language). You can benefit by learning a different paradigm. Try C, which also happens to be used on most embedded chips (not C++).
