Depends on what you're wanting in terms of licensing.

For personal projects I'll release things with some sort of GPL or BSD style license. For other software that I write for money, it's typically in the contract what will happen to it in terms of ownership and typically I don't own it. Now if you're wanting a license for software you're selling, you may want to site down with a lawyer to hammer out what is needed.

In the United States, we filled our software copyrights here, for $30, but it looks as if the fee has gone up to $45. Since you are not in the US, I'm not sure what to suggest. What did google return for you?
