I'm writing a program that get's the following from user: name, item bought, and quantity. After geting this data from the user, I want a form to be generated bearing the info entered into the data base. Such that when the form is printed via the printer, it will have a unique auto generated number on it. Example if I print 1 form, let it 00001 be auto generated on the form. Then if I come after sometime and print another form, let it auto generate 00002 in that sequence. I've done the other parts of the work, but my problem is with the AUTO GENERATION. PLEASE HELP ME OUT

You could use an AutoNumber field in your database and format how you want it to appear.

Assuming you're using Access, which you haven't said. If you're using SQL Server, it would be an "Identity column".
