return to link location on postback

Posted 26 June 2007 - 07:31 AM

i've got some links on a page and when they're clicked and the page refreshes I'd like the user to return to the location of the link they clicked. is this possible to do in the postback section of my aspx code?

i'm not looking for is a focus or a select (i.e. javascript)

no, i found what i was looking for, it's called smart navigation. whenever i click on a link that posts to the same page it will remember where i was on that page and return me to that location.

it's called smart navigation and can be turned on with an @Page directive:

<%@ Page SmartNavigation = "true" %>

however, it apparently only works in IE5.5 or greater.

if anyone else is curious and would like a work around that works in all browsers, 4GuysFromRolla has a solution:
