Unpublished snippet
Posted 07 November 2012 - 06:42 AM
Hello there! I've written some java snippet cca week ago. Is there any possibility to see or edit this snippet I've already sent for approval? ....I'm also starting to worry, if I've even submited it, because I think that week is enough time to approve this snippet...Would I get any message if this snippet would be rejected? Thanks for the answers

Uh I'm not sure...It was snippet for client-server project, where client sends HTTP POST request, server running on Tomcat catchces it via servlet, asks MySQL database, gets some result and sends it back to the client...

I disapproved your snippet within a couple days because the material would really be better presented as a tutorial. You should have received a PM with the reason why your snippet was disapproved.

I dind't get any message...Can that snippet be found somewhere yet? Cuz I don't have any backup of this code and I don't wanna to write it from scratch again :-S I wasn't sure if I shall post it as a snippet or a tutorial and then I decided to post it as a snippet...so sorry for choosing a wrong category

Question : When you wrote this snippet, surely you saved the file in order to compile it?

It's a little bit difficult ... I needed to write my own project, so I wrote at first a snippet for DIC community and then I've used this as a template for my own project...So yes...I've got code of this project, but it also contains a lot of other code so it's really complex and it would be needed to walk through whole code and edit it quite a lot, to make this code enough simple for a tutorial :-S

Another way to look at it is like this :
If the code or method of programming isn't something that is easily replicated, then you may not be in the best place to be teaching it to others.

I think you didn't get it well - of course, it can be easily replicated...But it would take me time to delete my own code, that's not needed for tutorial, write all the comments again and so...
I only wanted to say, that it's a pitty, that it will take me again some time to write that tutorial...and the time is, what I don't have in these days :-(
