Paypal - Including Comments from form in Buy It Now Button

Posted 08 November 2012 - 04:43 PM

Hi,

I have a client where I needed to make an order form for their products. So far all the fields go through except the comments field. So the client is able to receive their money, etc... from purchases. At this stage the comments field is a must and is required to be sent to PayPal as part of the transaction information. It is mandatory that the field stays within the form on their website, and we can not rely on the use of the PayPal comments box on the PayPal website.

Does anyone know how to make the comment field go through to PayPal with the transaction?

Thank you for your help.

Not exactly sure what you want the comment field for, but during the DoCapture API Operation you have the NOTE field you can use to put in a note that will be passed to PayPal and added to the buyer's email and transaction history.

Perhaps this is what you need? :)

Thank you for your reply.

Do I just need to change the name/id of the comments field to Note? or does this involve a more complicated solution. Is this like the comments/instructions to merchants field?

I would expect to get a more complete and timely reply from Paypal itself on an issue with the Paypal API. Did you try contacting them?
