Games Simulation

My Final Project in Programming Class is Game Simulation,I'm thinking to make a Program in chess but I don't know how to start because it is not yet Explained the requisite of doing it,So,I need some advance study on how to make the source code of the game that I have choose,To make a Simple chess Program... :

See there's the problem... if you pick a topic and you are "I don't know how to start" it might be a safer bet to find something you do know to start but you can go complex on.

Typically I start with platform, languages, and depth write ups. That helps dictate some options. User inputs, data storage, and GUI next. Then objects, states, etc. You know - standard software design schtick.

I agree. A final should be the conclusion of what you learned. Not something entirely new.

the artificial intelligence for chess is not a trivial thing. If you are a novice computer scientist choose something easier because you will not manage to implement such algorithms
