My ranger has 17 dex and definitely took ambidexterity feat. He's pretty bad ass - especially with his magical hammer and magical short sword.

We've already heard about gabehabe, thanks.

That sounds fun. Gotta try it.

OT though, my mom is ambidextrous. She was born a leftie, but was forced to learn to use her right hand by my grandparents because apparently, being a leftie is 'bad luck'.

I'm ambidextrious, it has its uses I suppose. Of course, I think I just got forced into being it.

Was left-handed, got sent to catholic school, forced into right-handed, now I use both. Paint/Draw/Sports/So on with both. Why the interest?
I found something
here. Is this true?

Well, I am brain damaged to a certain degree do to multiple concussions, however, I believe it has more to do with my being born with a left-handed preference and being forced into being right handed in my early school years. Now I do both equally, with everything. My brain damage only affects my memory, is what the docs told me, but who knows? -shrug- I don't care if it is due to it or not, I'm me either way.

Americans are full of false ego-pride, & superstitions at the same time. It's sad, but yeah, American's devalue human life over pretty much nothing. Course witch burning was world-wide, & even left some German villages woman-less. Total sausage party!

Although, like the inquisition, it was not a very efficient process. The amount of work required to strip a Spanish converso of their goods and burn them generally greatly exceeded the worth of those goods, so it was a loss all around. (the conversos got the last laugh, I guess)
In the same way, burning a witch was a pretty time-consuming affair, what with the baseless accusations and the trials by ordeal and the this and the that, so the witch hunts served more pour encourager les autres than as an effective means for ridding towns of witches.

Fortunately in our modern times we can kill people off much more efficiently, if need be, so any future witch hunts will be much more effective, thanks to modern technology.

People always get a kick out of torturing other people. Modern technology would help only in more painful and drawn out deaths. One of the worst things I read about the Inquisition was a way of testing if a person was consorting with demons: Tie a rock to their legs and drop them of the deep end of the river. If the survived, they are a witch and are burned. If they died, well they're dead, but their name is cleared. Sadistic bastards.

Way back in the day, I was *shudder* a lefty.

My old kindergarten teacher couldn't read anything I wrote down and decided to have me experiment with using my right. I hated it at first, but after a week or so, like children do with so many things, took to it like second nature.

She was also the only teacher to ever give me an 'F'. Sorry Ms. Hilderbrand, but some people want to color outside the lines and live in a world with blue trees!

@strawhat - how does that help me be born a lefty, forced to use my right hand by closed-minded religious people, and then end up ambidextrous? I feel robbed about the ending-up-ambidextrous thing, not the extra crispy thing.

Lol, same here.

In latin, left is sinister. That sinister has taken on it's current meaning in English no coincidence. Lefties are evil. Satan is left handed, naturally.

In Japan, swordsmanship is only taught right handed. Today, Japanese have a much lower number of lefties than most populations. This might be because there's still stigma attached, but I prefer to believe in a Darwinian pruning via ill fated leftie swordsmen.

That has been a favorite idea of which/demon consorting testers for hundreds of years. Frequently people were accused for being witches/warlocks as a means of getting someone out of the way.
