Sleep and Caffeine

I seem to have this problem where no matter how much sleep I get ( 6-9 hours a night ) and no matter how much caffeine I drink, be it coffee, pop, energy drinks, etc, I can't seem to stay awake. It's a bit of a problem when I have a busy schedule and have lots of projects to do.
Does this happen to anybody else? Can a person become immune to caffeine's affect on being tired?

Get off medicine and chemicals/drinks.
Exercise 2-3 times per week.
You can build a lot of energy...

Got surgery done for it and now I sleep like a baby. There are alternatives to surgery but I found it to be the best.
Also, a plus would be dreaming. I haven't dreamed in years and the doctors said it's expected to be very vivid for the first few nights, which was interesting. And now I dream every night so it's definitely pretty cool.
tl;dr, if you wake up feeling like shit, falling asleep all day, sore throat/snoring, and you don't dream, you may have sleep apnea.
