Just conducting a general survey here. I was thinking about pursuing a degree, subsequently a career in web development. If you are making a living yourself in web dev/design, your 2-bits are appreciated on this field. Thanks in advance.

Web Developer, an oxymoron? 
I am a developer. Sometimes I do web based stuff. I guess I am a "web developer" sometimes. Sometimes I am just a developer. I may even be an engineer at times and an architect at other times.
In other words, you can't categorize so easily. If you think there's a specific job called "web developer" you're in for a surprise.

Maybe it is an oxymoron. I was just intrigued in this program offered at my college for "Internet and Web Developing/Design", or something of the like.
