connect to mysql db; set connection data in runtime by user

Posted 15 November 2012 - 10:04 PM

Hi!

I'm a newbie to vb.net programming. problem is, I'm developing a library system using mysql database & vb.net 2010 . I want the user to set db host, username and the password in runtime. they provide these data using 3 text boxes. I want to store these data to a config file so that when the user connects to the database next time he won't have to enter those data again.

thanks a lot......

Hello Akhila

Welcome to DIC :)

We at DIC don't just give out code...we guide people in the right direction by correcting errors in their code or suggesting them alternatives. I would suggest you post the code that you have programmed in order for us to help you out :)

@Mod, can you please move this post to the VB.NET forum? Thanks :)

regards,
Raghav
