Hi all, I am a first semester student at a Tech school in Wisconsin. ALL my credits are transferable to a a few different well named universities in the area if I decide to go after a computer science degree.
I thought I would understand programming better than I do. I wrote a pseudo code for trying my best, all i can think of is code, I finish all my other HW in an appropriate amount of time, but programming is 20-30hrs a week.When I'm done, I have about 20 lines of code!

try_BEST * 2 = + 10. Now you see why my programs don't run. I'm kidding, I know I can do it, I just need a little more direct help at times.

Nah, don't worry. Naughty jokes are bread and butter of The Lounge, you'll fit right in. Actually, from what I see, it's not just "naughty jokes" - most of the time it's full blown porno jokes. Just don't do it in helping boards.

Neat! WI is fabulous!

I can't wait until I learn more, plus I don't just try to make a program work any way possible, unless the deadline is up. I really try to make it work how I would want it to work, even though it is just an intro course. I enjoy the challenge.
People compare it to learning a language, but I think it's much more;
(i.e learning a whole new way to think. Not like a computer, but an extension of one. Everything is a gigantic mathematical word problem. Then on top of that there are many languages to learn.

Aye, if you've learned that "programming way of thinking" then I think you'll be quite alright. IMO it's quite important, because without that... Well, I imagine you'd be in a world of pain and frustration until you learned it.
