IE 9

Posted 22 November 2012 - 10:21 AM

Hi there. I'm new to DIC so first off I hope I'm posting this in the right forum! For some reason IE9 has stopped working on my PC. No problems with FireFox & Google Chrome. Each time I try to open IE9 I get a message telling me that Internet Explorer has stopped working, then Windows is searching for a solution ... but no solution is found.
Could someone please suggest how I can fix this problem? I'm using Vista Home Premium.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards, BelfastMan.

Did you try any of the solutions listed here?

http://windows.micro...ternet-explorer

I would recommend the 'fix it' package.. those typically work pretty well.

Have followed all the steps, and am currently running the scanner....even though I have Mcafee installed! Will let you know how it goes. Many thanks for the reply.

Didn't you mention that Firefox and Chrome work? :innocent:

Normally I'd recommend that you remove the offending software and reinstall it, but seeing as how IE is pretty much infused into the Windows OS, that doesn't seem likely to work. (If it's even possible at all.)

I don't suppose reinstalling the OS would be a possibility? You could take the opportunity to upgrade or downgrade from Vista.
