i have 1 directory folder where i put all my php files.
my friend have 1 directory folder where i put all my php files.
my other friend have1 directory folder where i put all my php files.
my other friend have 1 directory folder where i put all my php files.
my other friend have 1 directory folder where i put all my php files.
so total we got 5 derectory's and that not including all the php files in it.

but we are confuse on how this works. is there a way so we all have one directory and database? right now we feel like we are building 5 different websites. is there more to website like github that we can use.

Normally a team would work on the same code base when using a version controls system like git. You can all be editing the same files. You just need to remember to fetch any updates from the main repo before pushing your own commits, and solve any conflicts you may run into. (Conflicts happen when two coders are pushing edits to the same lines in the same file.)

It's good to use some sort of management software, like a bug tracker, to create a list of tasks that need to be carried out. (I think github includes a bug tracker for each repo.) Then you can each just grab one of those tasks, trying to choose one that doesn't require you to do work in an area another member is working on, to keep conflicts to a minimum.

You should familiarize yourself better with how git works before continuing with this.

i want to create repository on github so that more than one people can work on same project.

i already create a organiztion, team and repository. https://github.com/S...cal_website.git

there is one dir on my computer, one on other peoson computer. and we are uploading on github.
so "xammpp>htdocs>socal_website"

but its remove older files on github when u commit files. not sure what iam doing wrong. when every i commit files than other person commit files. than it will del the old files. but i want to update the files. -_-

i think its bc even tho its one repository on the website but we all are not connect to it at same time.

XAMPP should come with MySQL installed. Just turn it on in the XAMPP control panel and navigate to phpMyAdmin (I believe that should also be installed with XAMPP). From there you can directly access the database through an interface. You can also use the command line if that's your thing.

Through scripts - you should all contain the same connect script. Don't break this up to 5 sites under 5 people.
