Hi,
I need help understand mysql data type field size/length.
here is my SQL.
not getting the role of datatype(M) M- length/size

int(5) -- it must be store and display size of 5.
but it is storing more then 5 integers.

That’s according to the Manual. the display size only takes effect if the number is smaller than the size:

MySQL Manual - Numeric Type Attributes said:

For example, for a column declared as INT(4) ZEROFILL, a value of 5 is retrieved as 0005.
