Hi everyone I am new to this forum and just want
to say thanks from what I read seems like I will
get all the help that I need. I was just wondering
what software do I need if I want to start creating
a 3D game completely from scratch. I have had some
experience with programming using c#, java, php &
a very small amount of C++ but I have not tried
a project this big. Any help would be much
appreciated
Thanks

You may need to explain this better, but a lot of starting points can be found in the pinned threads.

Again the pinned threads say it all.. the unity engine if you want that route.. opengl or directx if you want to go the longer route.. etc. Some sort of modeling software.. a plan.. etc.

I haven't tried it myself, but if I was in your shoes I would check it out. Right now, for 3D projects I'd much prefer using Unity3D.

I would recommend Unity3D or OGRE. The first one would probably fit you more since you can code in C#.
