I am new to programming and to this forum. I have already found many answers to questions I had while taking my first Java class. Now I am taking my first C++ course and I know the help from the experts on this forum will be invaluable.

Welcome to DIC :) Invaluable...the apt word indeed...:)...the help and suggestions given by the members is indeed very invaluable...:)

Well, there is a small catch though...we at DIC expect you to make a genuine effort in solving your problems before posting it here(in the sense: writing code,error messages if any etc)...once you do that, you will find help from all possible directions...:)
