CHIPs

Posted 30 November 2012 - 07:31 AM

Hello everybody :)
Have you ever tried to program a CHIP or something like that?

E.g. make some mini cars move with the help of AI , or schedule the lights in your apartment , etc ?

I'd love to hear some examples and to get an idea on how hard/easy it is :)

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

When I first read the topic, I was thinking of Ponch & John :

I bought some of these (which are not the CHIPs you probably refer to, but I've also never programmed them.

That's extremely vague, and the term CHIP by itself doesn't mean anything.

If you want to get into embedded programming, I would start programming with either
Rasberry Pi
or
Arduino
microprocessors.

If you want to get closer to the hardware, you could look into FPGA design. This is doesn't involve writing software like the microprocessors above; rather, you are programming the physical gates on the FPGA.
