Which programming language was likely to be used to create MSE and GUI

Posted 01 December 2012 - 04:09 PM

I am a newbie to programming and would like to know which programming language was most likely to be used in
coding Microsoft security essentials.

I would also like to learn how to create a similar GUI to the one used for the M$ security essentials so I'd also
like to know which program can be used to create a similar GUI.

I have attached a screenshot of the GUI.Attached Image

Microsoft tends to use Visual C++ to do many of the things in their operating systems, but you can create a GUI and functionality exactly the same as essentials in any .NET language. Like C# or VB.NET. All you need to get started doing something like this is download Visual Studio Express 2012.

With this tool you can code in C# or VB.NET and create GUI programs for Windows, and with this edition, even Windows 8.

But that is the IDE typically used to create these kinds of programs. It is all you need. :)
