I am messing with a mmorpg and want to learn more about it. Now it seems a common belief that you can not learn much about these games because the game recides on another server. But I used to have a friend that rewrote amiga mmorpg games to run on other platforms. The general ideal is that something on your end has to decode the info. by taking snapshots of memory addresses you can eventauly gather enough info to build a alogorithim to decode the info then build a decoder yourself. even if I am not able to do this, I should be able to learn some interesting stuff. could a memory dump be used for this?

Why would you want to see a memory dump?
