XACT : what files are important?

Posted 06 December 2012 - 07:05 PM

What files are important in an XACT project?

I have the main XACT project file:
C:\Users\Jeff\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\3DgameTest\3DgameTest\3DgameTestContent\ShipProjectSounds.xap

And then under this folder I have 2 files:
C:\Users\Jeff\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\3DgameTest\3DgameTest\3DgameTestContent\SoundOrigionals\Win
ShipSounds.xsb
ShipSounds.xwb

Do all of the origional music files have to be included as well? I wanted to avoid having to include them since each file tries to compile and I would have to set them to not compile. What suggestions do you have?

I also get errors like this:

Quote

Error 3 Cannot autodetect which importer to use for "SoundOrigionals\Win\ShipSounds.xsb". There are no importers which handle this file type. Specify the importer that handles this file type in your project. C:\Users\Jeff\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\3DgameTest\3DgameTest\3DgameTestContent\SoundOrigionals\Win\ShipSounds.xsb 3DgameTest
