Metro and IE (as well as other MS products, like VS, allegedly) don't use ClearType, and look like crap on most current LCD displays. I tested it on my Laptop and had to stop browsing with IE in a few minutes because my head was starting to hurt.

Otherwise Win8 seems like a nice system. Kind of like Win7 with an annoying start menu. IE is unusable, but that's not exactly a big change from Win7.

I'm sticking to Win7 on my Windows desktops. See no reason why I'd pay for an upgrade that, at best, seems as good as it's predecessor. Really, I've seen no non-superficial reason why Win8 would be a better choice.

I'll be toying with it and give it a fair shake before deciding, but so far I'm impressed and inclined to keep it. We'll see how it handles surround gaming and development. I suspect I won't be disappointed.

Just be careful how much you shake it...those devices are known to lost whatever you drew upon them anytime you shake them.

lol

Windows 8 Etch-a-Sketch Edition is awesome, but it lags when I shake it and pixels go flying everywhere occasionally

Hah! See! Your Christmas presents all go together...shoot windows 8 with the ruger, then hide out in the new clothes so no one will recognize you.

I'm not trying to sound bland and all, but personally I like Windows 7 a lot more, I feel that Microsoft is trying to make computers a lot more family friendly, which is okay don't get me wrong but, I just don't like the feel of Windows 8, nor the look. Some people may like Windows 8, some may like Windows 7. It all depends on how you use the computer, I am guessing you're like me, which I advise you use Windows 7.

Just to note, my new roommate, who has been doing tech support for a decade, didn't realize I was running Windows 8 until I pulled up the task bar. He thought it was Windows 7, and he runs 7 on his systems.

It has an extremely similar LAF once you're logged in and not using the taskbar.

Just a heads up for people still confused on where things are and have trepidation on the move.
