@strawhat - I assume it's because her job is basically the application of engineering. An engineer designs the system, and then the project leads are in charge of implementation. Neo, correct me if I'm wrong.

no youre right. i was hired with the intent of eventually becoming an engineer, but since i came in knowing nothing about hvac, i have to start in the field. i mean, i cant design and program a system if i dont know anything about said system.

Sure you can, it's called the application of theoretical knowledge in a real use environment. It's done all the time by Microsoft. :)
