GCC Compiler for Windows Vista

Post icon  Posted 14 July 2007 - 12:27 PM

I was using Dev C++ in Windows XP.
But when I moved over to Vista, it is showing some strange errors..

Which could be the best compiler and IDE for Vista, barring Visual C Compiler...

I've got dev c++ working fine on Vista, but if you want another version of the gcc, you can install cygwin:

http://www.cygwin.com/

What are the errors?

Dev C++ worked well initially, but now when I am trying to compile it shows done and when I run it displays the error message..
" Source File not Compiled "

I usually press F9 and directly compile and run the code..
So this message comes directly...

Also I tried uninstalling and then again installing..
Then it worked fine and now the same problem is coming..

Or is it any virus, I have never heard of any such virus and my computer is well protected I guess..

Code::Blocks should work just fine on Vista, and it's based on MinGW just like Dev-C++.

Did you start a project, and place your files in that project?

Dev C++ cannot work well with MS Vista Environment paths.
You can fix this problem following this post.

This is the reason I'm dual booting XP and Vista - dev-C++ couldn't compile correctly in Vista for me so it (Vista) had to go.
