Put on that critical monocle and take a few minutes to examine the highs and lows.
- How did the year go for you?
- Did you make any goals you set?
- What did you learn that was new or exciting in the programming world?
- How about in the personal life?
- How have you grown as a person?
- What did you think was the most overrated game of the year? Under rated? .
- Would you rank this a good year or bad?
- Scale:
- -10 = worst year ever
- 0 = pretty bland year
- 10 = greatest year ever!

For the most part - 2012 was a good year for me. A few too many elder family members that passed on, but I guess that's just a sign of me getting old. Nothing major came down the pipe to rock my finances and I done with my student loans next month (a few years ahead of plan - suck it Feds). The job's been great and still poking around to ratchet up the pay in other places.
I am honestly shocked to see the general populace hasn't worked up their panic or paranoia to a fevered pitch. I was certain by October shit would be in near break down hysteria.
Programming wise it has been a scatter shot of new things I am picking up in a quick fashion.. more javascript and php than I thought I would do, but oh well - gotta play ball when you can.
Overrated games - Diablo3 and the continued COD series..
Goal wise it was good.. Lose'n the lbs with a good motivational fitness thread... various projects tested and a few that went the distance. I wish I gotten further on my robotics and UAV dreams, but that's what I get for not having a solid plan.
Goals for next year - more artsie projects. There's a nebulous idea for a card game, a few video games, and some crazy rubber stamp ideas I would like to see through.
Over all the year is about a +5.
