Biometric security for S3 and iPhone

Posted 17 December 2012 - 12:37 PM

Some close friends of mine formed a company called PIPA which focuses on biometric technology, and they've just announced a new project for the S3 and iPhone 5 on Indiegogo called PIPA Touch. It's been featured on Engadget, Android Authority, TNW, Samsung Geeks & Indiegogo. It's a biometric case which aims to completely replace passwords with a fingerprint sequence, not only for devices like the S3 and iPhone, but for websites like Dropbox etc. So for example, it would replace the passcode lock on iPhone with a fingerprint combination - the scanner is located at the back of the case. There's a video and demonstration on their YouTube page PIPATouch. (where the project is being funded) - have a look. Definitely more secure than Batman's mask ---> :batman:/>/>/>

Indiegogo Project

Haha! I can assure you they absolutely face-palmed their faces when that happened - but it was too late! They were there first though! :^:

Side question - can I bedezzle those cases? If I need to give up my happy-peppy unicorn case for some rote and drab case I better be able to encrust it with rhinestones.

lol the options available are all real material: carbon fiber and anodised aluminium.

They're not homosexual to colors, I can assure you :bigsmile:/>. Monochrome is just a start, when the project is up and running they will consider color case requests! In addition to the design and premium materials of the case, a lot of investment has been put into their patented biometric technology; they've figured out a way of making the tedious tasks of passwords/pass codes irrelevant with some complex software algorithms, but made easy for the end-user. It's really great stuff. After using it, it became very clear to me just how difficult my daily digital life was made complicated by passwords. For example, the delay in reading a short and important text on my iPhone because I had to enter a passcode would drive me mad! The seconds in my daily life really did add up, but thankfully, that no longer happens, thanks to the technology created by the PIPA Touch team. I really believe I have a real gem of a product, and I hope everyone else will experience it.

Well shit.. I would hope they are not just selling an ugly look'n case... that the finger print doo-hickey wasn't just an addon after making a case!

Seriously though - that read just like a bad infomercial. I mean sure the guy's your buddy and all but let's try and be a bit more discrete for the public display of reach arounds. ;)

No.. and not particularly planning on it since they lack unicorn case representation.

Ha! Reading back, it does sound like that, A LOT. I sound like Ricky Gervais from that Children In Need "ad" on YouTube. Search it up. It's so funny. But seriously, I guess it's difficult to explain until someone has actually used it. If anyone does, I hope they will come back to this forum and give me a pat on the back for being right!

Edit: right and 'honest' I should add!

Waaaaaait a minute.. is this just some ploy to get people to give money up to this indiegogo thing? So this isn't a real product yet?! Man I feel cheated out of my time because of this ruse of a post.

Still doesn't explain your blatant display of homophobia.
